Day 01 - Depart for Barcelona
Day 02 - Barcelona
On your arrival you will be greeted and taken to your elegant and centrally located hotel near the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas and within walking distance of the elegant Paseo da Gracia Avenue. After you've checked in, rest for a few hours. This afternoon enjoy a panoramic tour of this artistic and cosmopolitan city called by many the "Paris of the South". Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of the many popular restaurants which have earned Barcelona the reputation as Spain's culinary capital of the north.
Day 03 - Barcelona
This morning your knowledgeable guide and expert in Spanish history, will meet you at your hotel. Start your day with a visit to architect Antonio Gaudi's masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona's architectural landmark and one of the most admired buildings in the world.
Continue to the old Gothic District. Here embark on a detailed walking tour of the former and once thriving Medieval/Jewish Quarter. Visit the Generalite Palace, once home to King James the Conqueror during the 13th century, the Roman Museum and many other sites of importance to Spanish history.
Afterwards, relax while enjoying a delicious Catalan lunch in one of the most prestigious restaurants in Barcelona. Continue your tour of Barcelona with a visit to the Pablo Picasso museum, which houses the largest retrospective and permanent exhibit of this great artist. Your guide will take you through Picasso's different stages of art development. When finished continue to Las Ramblas, Barcelona's busiest promenade.
Day 04 - Barcelona - Valley of Penedes - Barcelona
Your driver will pick you up and take you to Spain's northern Wine and Cava region and Valley of Penedes. Start with a visit to Penedes' Wine and Cava museum. Learn how the art of wine making has been passed from one generation to another for over 400 years. This will be followed by a tour of this historical town. Here learn of the different festivities which take place throughout the year. Continue with an informative visit to various family owned bodegas, where you'll taste wines not exported outside of Spain. Finish your visit to Penedes with a delicious lunch at one of the many popular Masias (small chateaus) owned and run by local families overlooking the Valley and its vineyards. Evening on your own.
Day 05 - Day in Girona and Figueres
This morning travel to the medieval city of Girona, once an important Roman post during the 2nd century, where you'll be met by your guide. Tour its famous Call, the Gothic and former thriving Jewish Quarter during the 12th and 13th centuries. Visit the Arabian Baths and the medieval section of this fascinating historic city. After lunch, continue to Figueres in La Costa Brava. Visit the magnificent Salvador Dali Museum which houses an impressive retrospective on this controversial artist near Cadaques, where Dali spent his last years. Evening on your own.
Day 06 - Valladolid - Burgos
Today you fly to Valladolid. After your arrival enjoy lunch in one of their established wineries. Here you'll visit one of their most established bodegas and partake in a wine tasting of wines favored at one time by Winston Churchill. After lunch, continue to the magnificent medieval city of Burgos. This evening relax and enjoy your historic accommodations.
Day 07 - Burgos
Today tour the city of Burgos. Walk along the beautiful promenade that borders the Arlanzon river. Visit Burgos Monumental 13th century Cathedral, where you'll fine the immortalized tomb and burial of the Spanish figure of El Cid. Later, join the locals for a delightful lunch in one of the many prestigious restaurants found in this medieval city. Rest of the day on your own.
Day 08 - Burgos - La Rioja
Today spend the day visiting well known bodegas outside of Burgos and in the wonderful region of La Rioja, well known to the wine connoisseur for its variety of wines, vineyards and bodegas. Visit some of the private bodegas, which have been in the same family for over hundreds of years and learn of the aging process while you sample a variety of exquisite wines unique to this region.

During lunch, dine and sample on some of the local dishes which have made this region popular for the gourmet lover. While in Rioja, you'll also visit the impressive monastery of San Millan de la Cogolla where the first Castillian words were recorded by a monk during the 9th century. The visit will also include the unique clusters and churches built within the monastery walls.
Day 09 - Bilbao
This morning you leave for thriving Bilbao, in the heart of the Basque Country. Your first visit will be the impressive Guggenheim Museum. Your guide will take you on a detailed tour of the museum's architectural design in addition to the permanent collection of art and temporary exhibits. This evening after a panoramic tour of the city, partake of a wonderful dinner in the hisot enjoy the exquisite regional cuisine. Tonight enjoy a night out in the town in the growing gay community and party in places where Gay Bilbao meets.
Day 10 - San Sebastian
This morning you leave for majestic San Sebastian by the Sea. Visit the old Quarter, the magnificent promenade Paseo de la Concha, the Cathedral of Buen Pastor, and Mount Igueldo, where you'll take in the magnificent views of the bay. This evening step out in the town and visit the popular places frequented by the gay community.
Day 11 - San Sebastian - Hondarribia
Today spend your last day in the medieval resort town of Hondarribia. This historic town is surrounded by a wall and faces France. Meander through the narrow streets where you can do some last minute shopping. Enjoy the many small shops lined along the narrow streets full of souvenirs and excellent local wines. Later enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the many famed restaurants favored by international chefs and wine connoisseurs.
Day 12 - This morning you depart from San Sebastian to Barcelona for your connecting flight back home.
